Fashion is the armor to survive the reality of everyday life. —Bill Cunningham
Fashion is the armor to survive the reality of everyday life. —Bill Cunningham ~ My whole life…I’ve been unconsciously intrigued with fashion. In elementary school and middle school.. I didn’t have the nicest clothes. I was teased by other kids about my clothes growing up. My mom didn’t have a lot of money so I didn’t have the finest clothes as a kid. Around 9th-10th grade is where everything changed for me. I was at the age where I could start making my own money. I started doing landscaping around 2nd-3rd grade. Back then I used to shovel snow and cut grass to make money. I also used to rake the neighbors leaves. But that money was used on food and snacks. Once I hit high school I started using my own money to buy my own clothes and sneakers. That’s when everything changed. Around 9th grade I started developing my own style. I started developing my own fashion sense. I guess you could say my swag started to fully manifest. I was bold in my fashion choices. I wanted to stand out, but also provide some type of simplicity. I remember getting compliments on my fashion by school administrators. I always wanted to be different. Even today I truly believe uniqueness is the key. Being authentically yourself is the key. I’ll touch more on this soon.
Have a great day, everyone.
